Hole forming thermal pliers are specifically designed to prevent distortion of the aligner without the need to heat the plier. They are used to create half-moon cutouts for relief of clear aligners around bonded buttons. Also used for elastics and removes plastic to provide soft tissue clearance to prevent aligner impingement of tissue.
